WHAT IT IS The difference between regular green tea and oolong teas is the additional temperature treatment used to attain a special smoky, complex flavor. To create this Jade Ginseng Oolong Tea, hand-selected green tea leaves are rolled, curled and twisted – then baked and mixed naturally sourced ginseng root powder for maximum flavor and health benefits.

FLAVOR NOTES The natural oxidation and roasting of oolong tea yields a complex taste that many compare to milk or cream. When mixed with naturally sourced ginseng tea powder, the tea acquires a flowery aroma and a naturally sweet flavor that lingers on the palate long after you sip the tea.

BACKGROUND Oolong Tea became popular in ancient China during the Tang Dynasty (618 – 907 A.D.). This special way to treat green tea was devised to fill the gap between green and black tea, combining the health benefits of green tea and taste complexity of black tea.

The Ginseng plant was first discovered some 5 thousand years ago in the mountains of Manchuria in China. It has since been used for medicinal purposes, becoming a very valuable commodity – often traded for more than its weight in gold.
